A true crime series in which the fragility of memory, the unreliability of perception, and flawed police procedures combine to create a terrifying, dystopian vision of American Justice.

Truth is often beside the point

True Memories and Other Falsehoods (TMOF)

In this poetic crime series, three stories slowly unfurl. An innocent man becomes convinced he brutally murdered his parents, an assault victim misidentifies her assailant, and an all-white jury wrongly convicts a black man of armed robbery despite his being 260 miles away. Via four compact 35-minute episodes--verité footage, evocative reenactments, and voice-over interviews combine to reveal how erroneous police practices and societal bias contaminate criminal procedures and lead to wrongful convictions.
